I’m very intrigued by “A Fair Day’s Pay For A Fair Day’s Work” which is your egalitarian gigging policy at the moment. Can you tell us more about what this involves?
Well basically, we’re heading towards hard times and everyone’s going to feel the pinch somewhere or other. I suddenly started to think about what I was doing, I was no longer in a band and thought well, now I’m free to do anything I like, and then I thought well what do I like? What I like is a good deal, so when I go shopping like everyone else I like a good bargain. One of the slogans of my youth was “a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work”. So I thought OK, forget what people think I am and what they think I might earn, what about if I say to them “I’ll work for you for what you earn”. That can’t be unfair. If someone’s doing a bit of cleaning in a school for a few quid a week, then one day of that will secure my services, providing they put me up or find somewhere for me to sleep and feed me. So that was the basic thinking behind it.

Klemen: Thank you very much for agreeing to this interview, Edgar. I am only 20 year old and I have been listening to your music for many years now.. Firstly I would like to ask you about your childhood. What were your main influences at that time?
Edgar: I was interested in rock n roll music from Little Richard, onwards including Bill Hayley, Del Shannon, Elvis and then blues, Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williamson, Buddy Guy etc. I also liked some of the UK beat groups inc The Hollies, Searchers, The Shadows of course and Beatles and Stones. Then Capt Beefheart and the US West coast music around 66 / 68. The Animals, Yardbirds, John Mayall, Cream.
